The material used in pouches can wear out after a few months, leaving your car vulnerable when you think it’s protected. This is why we created the Attenuo Signal Blocking Car Key Case - A completely enclosed portable aluminium case that won’t ever wear out. It comes at the cost of a slightly increased product size, but in our opinion it’s absolutely worth it and necessary to make sure your vehicle is safe now, and always
Our key case is machined from solid aluminium, with a magnetic closing hinged lid and felt lined interior. The compact 89x59x30mm size fits into most pockets and bags. Finished in sleek grey hard-wearing anodising, it also looks the part. The lined interior prevents rattling. The lid closes securely with its magnetic closure and opens with a flick of your thumb. The inside dimensions are 81x45x23mm, please check this fits the size of your fob before purchasing.
The case will fit your car key fob only without other keys attached. This is to keep the size of the product to a minimum. If this is something you require, this product may not be for you. The case will accommodate most fobs with a small keyring (20mm or less) and a keyring magnet attachment. This will allow you to clip your fob back to your main keys when you need to.
Incoming electromagnetic fields are distributed throughout the case and cancelled out, meaning any car key fob placed within the case will be completely cut off to the outside world. This means that when you lock your car and seal the key in our case, relay theft is prevented since thieves won’t be able to hijack your key’s signal and drive away.
There were over 89,000 car thefts in the UK in 2020, with keyless theft becoming increasingly more common as the technology gets rolled out to more vehicles. Typically a relay is used to pick up the signal from a car's keyless fob from within your house, pocket or bag and transfer it to an accomplice standing next to your car. This tricks your car into thinking you are standing next to it with the keyless fob, allowing them to unlock it and drive away.
